LORDSTOWN, OHIO –The maker of OptiGas, FastGas and ThermalCHECK now offers gas filling and testing solutions for every application with the addition of eight Helantec GmbH systems to its product lineup.
Helantec offers a range of solutions including surprisingly affordable argon filling and quality testing systems for low-volume fabricators along with advanced and sophisticated systems for higher volume and commercial and architectural fabricators such as the a high-volume laminar filling system.
“Whether you make 200 or 2,400 IG units a shift, you can get the right-sized solutions for your needs,” said Mike McHugh, president of OptiGas/Integrated Automation Systems. “From gas filling to quality to sealed IG adjustment without capillary tubes, we now offer the most comprehensive and advanced gas filling and testing system lineup in the industry”
Based in Bruchsal, Germany, Helantec is the leading provider of gas filling technology, analysis and process monitoring equipment for the European IG industry. An advanced feature of its systems is sensors that last more than 10 years without supplier annual calibration.
“We’ve added these Helantec systems because each of them, like each of ours, leads its category in performance,” McHugh said.
OptiGas initially agreed in March to market Helantec’s Altimeter Pro, an advanced insulating glass pressure balancing systems in North America. The reception for that system spurred the addition of the complete line. The companies will jointly staff OptiGas’ booth at GlassBuild 2013.
The Helantec gas filling systems include the Smart 150, a 200-unit per shift argon machine that is highly accurate and cost less than lower performing competitive machinery. Other gas filling systems are the 400-unit-per-shift L200 and the single and double versions of the L500, which can fill 550 and 1,100 units per shift.m
Gas fill verification offerings are the handheld Helantec Gas Tester, the tabletop ISO-Gas and the Gas Inspector. None requires annual supplier recalibration. ISO-Gas and Gas Inspector features include detecting mixed gases, touch screen operation, data recording and integration with production systems.
The Helantec Leakfinder is a handheld unit that detects gas leaks from any source including faulty seals, corners, rivets, screws and patches. “This is an economic breakthrough in the quality control process,” said McHugh. “Window companies can now catch and correct problems that lead to seal failures before units are even glazed.”
The Helantec ISO Altimeter Professional accurately and quickly sets the pressure of IG units to the average annual atmospheric pressure of the installation site. Widely used in Europe, the system eliminates bowing and pressure change breakage, enables the use of argon and krypton and virtually eliminates the need for capillary tubes.
“These systems complement our OptiGas’ high-end gas filling and testing system, the high-speed FastGas argon filling systems and ThermalCHECK high-end gas testing system,” said McHugh. “Our goal continues to be to bring vital new and comprehensive capabilities to gas filling and testing so companies can deliver true U-Values to the market.”
